| Where are the best sushi places in Greater Vancouver these days??
So I'm coming back to town soon, and was wondering where the best value sushi places are; my favorite when I was last in town was Ebisu.
Please name your top 3!

Toshi is cheap but huge lineups and only open at night, not worth the wait, but if you rather save $$$, their house roll and box sushi are pretty good, a couple of decent ones actually

Sushi California for my money. Then again, it's the best one that is close to me in Surrey.

The only sushi joint worth going to in Surrey is Hanako.
Pure gourmet expensive shit. But good pure gourmet expensive shit.
It's like a smaller less commercial version of Ebisu.

ebisu has crappy sushi compared to Hanako. ebisu reminds me of sushi garden quality.
Hanako Good and not expensive.
Sushi town Very Bad
Sushi Garden Very Bad
Toshi Average
Octopus Garden Good
Sushi Hachi Good
Most of the above are not too$$ but don't expect acye prices. The difference in quality is night and day. I really don't understand how people (a lot of people including my retarded friends) can eat at Sushi garden and think it is good. Their rolls, sushi and sashimi portions are ridiculous.

its kind of tough to say since the OP said best value and usually best value is average quality with below average price. in my opinion, the best of the best goes to sushi hachi. you haven't had saba until you've had the saba at sushi hachi. the uni and aji served there is top notch as well. i just warn people not to order the ootoro there since it was disappointing and not worth the $8 i spent lol. terms of best value, id say sakura sushi on no 3 road near staples. small place but serves up fresh sashimi/nigiri at a great price despite being a tiny store.

It's like a smaller less commercial version of Ebisu. | See, I think it's good. Now, I'm scared to try more expensive sushi so that I don't spoil the illusion that I know what good sushi is (and it's cheaper for me that way). But, I guess I'll have to break down and try Hanako soon then.

I've always been a satisfied customer of theirs so I personally have no complaints otherwise.
