I'll put together a reunion camping trip next summer or something. '04 and older members only.

It'll take that long to track people down anyway.

If it makes you "old folks" feel better, the same thing is happening to the vw scene.but the new blood is starting to plan things, I think it's sort of cyclical.

I haven't been on in ages because after 8 hours in front of a computer the Internet is not really interesting. We go to timmies now and then, but like Cornell there's hardly anyone I know anymore. It's always nice to see someone we do tho!

I agree with whoever said forums are sort of a dying thing. I rarely check forums anymore, mostly because the time I used to use doing that has been replaced by facebook/twitter/etc. Also, with everyone having a smartphone, I wouldn't be suprised if actual time on the computer at home has gone down.

This place taught me a lot though, so it would be sad to see it fade away.

since im new to revscene was originally form kelowna and was apart
kelownacarlife alot of those guys came originally form RS but apparently didnt like the style and rules of RS so they started there own forum and club but most local forums have turned into basically a Buy and Sell for performance parts i also noticed on alot of forums there is alot of dising ppl and there rides because they're riced out or they ask stupid questions that they should know the answer to. No wants to to be in a environment that ppl are negative and shit al they want to do is find some info on some thing and move on.

Striking a balance between rules and tolerating some shenanigans is tough balance. Without mods to crack down on ass clowns things would get out of hand and retards take over, and people who can breathe through their noses and have a job get driven off. Just read vancouvermustangs.com for proof.

As a relative noob I can say that at least part of the lack of new regulars is the intimidation of walking into a tight knit group of long time friends. Less than tolerant responses to questions would certainly aggravate that (although I haven't seen that personally).

That said, I can agree with the other points that have been made. Make/model specific forums will always be the best source for information, posting your project and it's mods is a great way to have it targeted by thieves, and the forum scene is slowly being killed by more inane things like facebook and twitter.

I think some more organized and higher profile meets, especially daytime meets, would be a good way to bring some fresh blood to the scene.

Maybe a vigilante car thief hunting group would be a good way to bring everyone together lol.

I've only ever gone with friends, but what I have noticed is the influx of RHD cars. It seemed in the summer the lot was a majority of JDM cars. My guess is this might have something to do with the scene.
