high beam low beam so... my bike has twin headlight, only one of them lights up for low beam, both for high beam. i been using low beam for day time, and high beam for night, but my frd said that i should use high beam during day time because other ppl would see me better, and use low beam at night so i don't blind the driver infront of me? whats the correct way? |
i only use my dual lights at a spirited pace at nite time. my single beam is HID and produces pretty good light |
well, logically, the correct way is to run them like you would your car headlights. low on all the time, high when you need it. i run high beams on all the time tho. more vis in the day, and honestly the single sided lowbeam blows ass at night. |
Now that you've mentioned it, it kind of makes sense to use high beam during day and low beam during night. Never thought of it that way. |

Adjust the high beam lower and raise the low beam, then you can run both day and night and not worry about blinding drivers. |
I used to ride with the high beam at night as well until I rode home behind my girlfriend one night and she tore a strip off me when we got there about how I blinded her. Made me rethink. |
I don't rely on high beam to save me. |
maybe it's just me, but i think that using the highbeam runs the battery down more quickly. |
^ Not with the engine running. Personally I run dual HIDs (one low, one hi/lo). Even with casper shields and a decent cutoff, they're still crazy bright if you look into the reflector, which is what I want. Too many close calls from inattentive drivers. Stock headlights on bikes are way too dim. |
