Safety Reminder - Power Outages. When approaching an intersection where the traffic light is out(or just flashing red): Use the four-way-stop procedure I saw way too many people blowing through these types of intersections this morning in Delta at 60+ km/h (and many near accidents!) Thank you. |
were you on duty at the time? |
What I hate are the extra cars who try to sneak in and go without waiting. There'll be trying to sneak in with the first row of cars that are going and then screw everyone else up. |

I think wing_woo is referring to multiple lanes of traffic... when the two sets of lanes across from each other go, they usually all go at the same time... but a second person behind the first person goes through without stopping. |
exactly |
A good reason to replace traffic lights with traffic circles |
this is the reason why they usually put stop signs out at the intersection whenever the traffic light is broken or flashing red. so dumbass drivers will actually notice it |

Ambulances with emergency gear activated are permitted to break traffic laws. That is why the law requires all vehicles to pull to the nearest shoulder & stop. I have driven the wrong way on 1 way streets, divided highways, the shortest ( wrong) way around traffic circles when an emergency existed. Somestime you have to do it. It IS scary. Trust me. I had to ride from downtown Nanaimo to Ladysmith to a horrendous crash and ended up riding on sidewalks, wrong way streets, medians, shoulders, wrong side of the barrier and lane splitting, in order to get there. There was no other way with the jammed traffic. Pucker factor warp 10!!! |
