Morton's? There are better places like Gothams (also owned by the keg) and also Hy's for high end steakhouses.

I dunno which keg u've been to but most corporate ones are consistantly good.

Richmond Keg is nasty, my friends (grade 12 students) cooks their... they say they just throw it on the grill and thats all bleh, i didnt like it

I have been to Gotham and Mortons

I couldnt decide which one was better both were amazing
and at the same price range, about 250+ for both people

Me and my girlfriend last time shared a Double cut porterhouse .... holy shit was it big haha

sooooo good too

But hmm which are the better kegs?

All the ones I've been to have been pretty consistent. I think the difference is mainly service unless they overcook your steak or something. If you don't like one Keg, you probably won't like any of them. Stick to your $60 steaks

I hate saying this but most "franchise" kegs are kinda meh. But if you go to a corporate one it's good. If you're not happy of what your having (like your steak is over cooked), just simply tell them that you don't like it. They will grill you a new steak.

Corporate Kegs:

Thurlow, Burnaby, Yaletown, Granville Island, New West (hit and miss), Coquitlam (will open in october), Scott Road, Guilford.

Franchise:

Richmond, Whistler, Caesars, Morgan Creek, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, pretty much most outskirts are franchise.

I'll agree that the keg is pretty consistent too! and yes the richmond one sucks.. the one on alberni and robson is the best!

Fanchise is basically borrowing the keg name. Its semi-privately owned. They are free to do something like drink specials, different plate presentation but still have to keep certain things on the menu.

Easiest way to know if its a franchise? The garnish they provide u with your steaks. The franchise one gives out brocolli and cheese (richmond, morgan creek does it, dunno about the others). The corporate one gives you the baked tomato and cheese garnish.

When it comes to steak, surprisingly enough, Catcus Club has definitely stepped up to the plate. The fillet mignon is kicking butt man

be prepared to wait for a table at yaletown....super busy. And the patio has to clear off by 11:00 because of noise laws. Very nice tho, its the new flagship store. the new coquitlam one is going to look like the burnaby one.
