Cedar plank salmon

First time i tried this it turned out amazing second time the salmon was very "seng"/ extremely fishy. Did the second portion of salmon get cut improperly which gave it that crazy gross fishy taste? Got them both times from costco.

Did you baste enough times? Or maybe the salmon wasnt very fresh...but then again it is costco...should be fresh all the time

prop the filet with green onion next time and put ground ginger in the baste...it'll help with the fishy taste

salmon is a natural oily fish, and thus will always taste a tad fishy when cooked

thats why u use lemon, and dill or other herbs to mask the fishiness.

also try soaking the cedar planks first, and if they do flare up a bit, no sweat, the bbq smell makes the salmon taste better

If it's fishy enough to taste like that, then it wasn't fresh. Is Costco known for having fresh fish? I doubt it
