Green Headlights

Hey, my friend recently got these green headlights. What type of a ticket and how much is $$$ for that?

zulutango 08-31-2009 11:34 AM

Defective vehicle, $109 and park the car till thery are removed and likely a VI as well. Kermit said it best...It's hard to be green!

shenmecar 08-31-2009 11:45 AM

GREEN headlights? X.x

falcon 08-31-2009 01:05 PM

tell him the rest of vancouver thinks he's an idiot.

4doorVIP 08-31-2009 01:24 PM

tell him to wash his car

PACER 08-31-2009 01:30 PM

Head light emit other than white light. $109 or they could use an offence that is only $81. But they could issue a box 1 and tow the car.....

What the h---- is wrong with white....

Soundy 08-31-2009 01:48 PM

Are the LIGHTS green, or are we talking about the green-tinted covers that are supposed to block/filter speed lasers?

Rich Sandor 08-31-2009 06:55 PM

in Lemans, the slower cars have yellow headlights, and the faster cars have white headlights, so that when the slower cars see white headlights behind them, they know to GTFO.

I'm not sure why anyone would want slow-colour headlights..

:)

fukkeneh240 08-31-2009 07:09 PM

uh... the last I heard green head lights gave you an automatic 80 WHP. so before we say stuff, let's get our facts straight.

They're actually all blue, it's just the Doppler shift you're seeing.

johny 08-31-2009 09:50 PM

the doppler effect makes a great hallowen costume!....

(we'll see if anyone watches that show...)

underscore 08-31-2009 10:25 PM

And if all this fact/mocking still doesn't make your friend remove them, tell him to at least keep the stock ones in the glove box so he can try to convince the officer pulling him over to let him swap them back in so he at least avoids getting towed (if he's really lucky)

Wow people would fall for that crap.... no wonder I'm poor I give people too much credit ..... they can actually sell green headlight covers by telling people they some how defeat laser speed devices...... We do not even aim them at the lights.....

I have a new product red colored lamp covers..... they make you invisible to police...... they come with a dozen free donuts so you can bribe any police officers that some how are imune to the red covers powers.... Only two easy payments or $29.99 plus S&H..... but if you act now I will throw in a pair of tail light covers for free normally a $50.00 value....

omg

LOL @ green headlights, I kinda like yellow ones, or those fake HID blueish ones, but green? wtfbbq???

Soundy 09-01-2009 04:39 PM

Saw a truck today with one blue headlight and one green one... talk about WTF.

And Pacer, anytime I've seen the green headlight covers, I've also seen a green cover on the front plate... somehow I doubt that works any better.

Green is messed up, but I agree, I'd want yellow headlights, but I'm not sure of the legality of them since I've only even seen them used as auxiliary fog lights.

actually, the faster cars now have blue strobe lights in their windshields to signal the slower cars they are behind them. =]

LenovoTurbo 09-01-2009 10:59 PM

He took them off today so yeah.

zulutango 09-02-2009 06:08 AM

Headlamps
4.05 (1) A motor vehicle must be equipped with either one or 2 headlamps mounted on each side of the front of the vehicle and capable of displaying white light.

Chartruse or puce or even magenta are also not good or legal choices. :)

!SG 09-02-2009 05:17 PM

green headlights? thats new.

but then some of the new lexus have this green hue on the headlights.

but green headlights? someone wants to live out their childhood dream of being the new green lantern!

LenovoTurbo 09-02-2009 07:22 PM

lmao yeah, it just has a slight green tinge to it. its off now so its all good.

TRDood 09-03-2009 11:46 AM

i saw green headlights on a CRV before on rupert.

i don't understand how the driver sees at night.

zulutango 09-03-2009 11:48 AM

Short answer...they can't and they don't.

Soundy 09-03-2009 12:00 PM

It's not about seeing... it's about looking cool/unique/different. Headlights are a fashion accessory, not a safety device.

Duh.
