^ Pigs blood is good shit! I believe the pigs foot is normal in good traditional Bun bo hue.
At least thats what I've always thought.
This thread just gave me a craving for Pho...

Last time I was there, they didn't give me much noodles in a large. I actually left hungry still. Owner is nice guy though. Has it changed?

WHY!?! | Why is that a surprise? Most places here do that. Quote: Bún bò Huế originated in the old imperial capital of Central Vietnam, Huế. The broth is prepared by cooking beef bones for a long period of time, as well as a large variety of different spices including lemon grass and chili. Shrimp paste is also a very important ingredient. Bún bò Huế usually includes thin slices of marinated beef shank, chunks of well-cooked oxtail, and pig's knuckles or pork. It can also include cubes of congealed pig blood, which has a color between dark brown and maroon, and a texture resembling gelatin. Bún bò Huế is commonly served with mung bean sprouts, lime wedges, cilantro sprigs, raw onions, and thinly sliced banana blossom. Thinly sliced purple cabbage or iceberg lettuce are common substitutes when banana blossom is not available. Purple cabbage most resembles banana blossom in texture, though not in taste. It is also common for a diner to add a small dollop of shrimp paste directly into the soup.

You have to accept that this isn't Vietnam, so you're not going to get the exact same thing.

Bottom half? Are you some kind of pho n00b? Now I question your pho critique.

If you feel that Kim Pehn is of unvarying consistence in its flavor, I would beg to differ based on my weekly lunch meals there during 2004-2006.
*Oh, and I once spotted a cockroach there as well!

Okay so with such a generic name for a restaurant ... (it's called "Vietnamese Restaurant" ?!) it's virtually impossible to search up on the net LOL ... that's like calling my place "Japanese Restaurant" ...
Anyways does anyone know the number for this place?
Better yet I just want to know the business hours, are they open late?
It'd be a sweet place to hit up after work if they open late enough! Definitely want to try it after the glowing review from the OP!

Its about 5 store units south of the southeast corner of Main/25th Avenue. The picture of the store is on the first post I put up on the previous page and I can see that the address is 4136 (on Main St). To add to this, I went again today and saw on the menu that they DELIVER.
Fuck. If they delivered overseas I'd marry their daughters.
EDIT: The father of the establishment clearly remembered me and realized that it was the 3rd time I had been here in 5 days, each time with different people. I have been upgraded as he today for the first time called me "my brother" as he seated me instead of the usual "my friend."

lol | Okay, Pho Vinh, is good. I really love the coffee they serve. Downside to all of this is that it's all the way in Guildford - too far.

bcrdukes once told me Bau Chau reuses leftover soup, they just pour it back into the main bowl to reheat and serve, is that still true??
