Good ol' Revscene... people posting useless responses... insert facepalm here.

How about... where do you live? North Van? Richmond? Near a main road, or deep in the side streets? Lots of flat, or lots of hills? Or both? Do the streets get plowed on your road before you go to work, or are you going to be digging yourself out and one of the first out on the streets? These are all important questions.

No matter what you drive... it's easier to get around in the winter (snow or no snow..) with winter tires. All seasons are 3 seasons at best - spring once it warms up, summer and early fall.. Once it starts getting below 7 or 8 degrees Celsius on average, you should put winter tires on because the tire compound is softer and your car will handle better. Buy a set now, so you don't have to worry about it when the cold hits. Plus it's easier to stop in the cold when your tires aren't sliding... summer tires or bald all seasons are a recipe for disaster!!

The best thing about winter tires... put 'em on a second set of rims, then when you swap 'em, you can inspect the brakes, CV boots, suspension parts, tire pressures, etc while you're in there.

Useless responses? More like starting useless threads.....He doesn't even ask a question. What is this thread about? Okay so this guy is getting a hatchback or SUV;super fucking cool story bro.

Why would I ask where he lives? If his original post was of any use, or if he thought it was relevant to what he might be TRYING to ask (and I capitalized 'trying' because he's not asking anything at all), he would've told us his location by himself.

This guy is new to revscene, cut him some slack? Unless it's just a new account.

Like some people have mentioned we're going to have a mild winter so I wouldn't worry too much about snow. Chances are we we get very little to now snow at all. And like jlenko said snow tires are probably the most important thing when it comes to snow. There's no point having 4wd if you don't have the traction to back it up.

Just get snow tires. They'll do fine regardless if your car's drivetrain is FWD or AWD.
