Not going to get much boarding done in feb/march.
Thats gonna suck.
Been thinking about boarding almost everyday lately.

I've been itching to get back out there since the season ended but even more so since buying my pass in june. Sun Peaks has a couple inches of snow, so I'm praying the season will be as good or better than last year. 2 more months :D

Vangruver 10-01-2009 01:58 PM

why wait?

there's snow atop baker right now, if you want to get your legs and core in shape, i say start HIKIN!

every season, cept the last, we hike and build a monster booter at baker to get us in shape.

saucywoman 10-01-2009 05:46 PM

what's the hike like? that sounds very tempting, lol

incubus 10-01-2009 08:13 PM

It's a hike, not a walk in the park.

think of it as a mild uphill hike but with lots of beer, and your gear, sometimes a shovel or three, and camera equipment.

oh wait, that's just us.

its a pretty mild hike but a little tougher only because of the gear you carry

this actually sounds quite interesting. I doubt I would carry anything but my boots and board, lol. I am a beginner so I wouldn't be using a shovel to build jumps or anything like that, lol

I should see if the brother wants to do this. How do you get there and all that fun stuff, lol?

Vangruver 10-02-2009 08:52 AM

If you are coming west, take the Sumas exit off of highway #1

That's the closest one to Mt. Baker. As you cross the border, WATCH YOUR SPEED. Sumas is notorious for catching Canucks going over 30MPH.

After that, just follow the signs. and BAM in about an hour [depending on how fast you drive] you'll be atop baker and ready to hike.

saucywoman 10-02-2009 10:32 AM

yeah I'd be coming from Kamloops. Approx how long of a hike is this? I wonder about avalanches though too :S thanks for the info :)
