From a review:

"Paranormal Activity is one of the scariest movies of all-time. YOU WILL BE AFFECTED as it’s hard to ignore the imprint it leaves on your psyche. You know it’s fake, and yet, you can’t shake it. Nightmares are guaranteed."

MR_BIGGS 10-10-2009 08:30 PM

I'll prob check it out..Nothing was scarier than the IT movies..

silk 10-10-2009 08:59 PM

is it out on dvd or anything ?

"sept 25th"

KuSouL 10-10-2009 09:07 PM

from the trailer the movie doesn't look scary at all ... doesn't even look like a good movie

but judging by the reactions ~ i'm pretty sure it'll be a good watch
so ... hopefully we get to see it soon

liu13 10-10-2009 09:52 PM

has anyone seen 120 days of sodom ? i heard that one is beyond disturbing

SkinnyPupp 10-10-2009 10:59 PM

A movie can only be truly scary if the viewer has a vivid imagination. People like KuSoul do not possess the psyche necessary to fully enjoy this type of movie (not that there's anyhting wrong with that, just that we're all different)

I watched Salo on Blu-Ray, and I think its reputation leads it to seem more disturbing than it really is. The fact that someone thought about writing that book on one long piece of paper while in a prison/insane asylum is what disturbed me most :lol

El Bastardo 10-10-2009 11:14 PM

I think that the amount of "viral hype" surrounding this movie will make it a disappointment for many

JSALES 10-10-2009 11:28 PM

is it even coming out in theatres? doesn't it say to vote to get it into theatres

twitchyzero 10-11-2009 12:01 AM

^ +1 ..i was thinking maybe it's diff list of showtimes for canada?

SkinnyPupp 10-11-2009 12:47 AM

The voting was to get it in more theatres after its limited release in September. It should be in most North American theatres on Oct 16. I think I may have to wait until January to see it unfortunately

phantom x 10-11-2009 03:01 AM

they will release the theater info on the 13th

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-11-2009 04:02 AM

the ring > all.

i hate the ring. yet i watch it over and over again. ok, not that many times.

SkinnyPupp 10-11-2009 04:52 AM

Have you guys seen Eden Lake? It's a "good" movie.. Good in terms of terror, but it doesn't exactly leave you feeling good after. My wife cried for like an hour after watching it.

Ulic Qel-Droma 10-11-2009 05:32 AM

i don't see how people can find movies that are not supernatural to be scary.

i mean, slasher movies (any movie where the "bad guy" is human(s)), aren't that scary because you know you would act differently or you are able to flee or fight back in different ways, even if you fail, the pain and death you suffer is not something unimaginable.

shit with ghosts/monsters/demons or whatever the fuck, strikes fear into me because of the unknown, the lack of knowledge known to stop these kinda things, even though i don't believe in that shit, your imagination just gets you, ya know?

i mean, what the fuck happens to the people in the grudge? i mean, wtf? WHERE THE FUCK DO THEY GO? u cant hide from that shit! what about the ring? those people's faces looked so fucked up, the fear that strikes them is beyond human comprehension. it's scary. it's scary cuz you can't stop it. not even with a fucking nuke.

i mean it really comes down to this, what's more scary, a psycho out to get you, or some supernatural scary being out to get you.

but you know, who ya gonna call?

SkinnyPupp 10-11-2009 07:15 AM

I think the issue with Eden Lake is the overall feeling of dread and hopelessness. Sometimes supernatural doesn't work.. IMO in the cave movie (forget the name) from a couple years ago, it worked better before the zombies started showing up. Or when there was just a hint that there may be something lurking in the dark.

wingies 10-11-2009 08:26 PM

^^ The Descent? Where a bunch of bitches go cave excavating and run into these demon rock climbing goblins or some shit

Yeah, the tone set in the first half of the movie was awesome.
