Documentaries, huh?

The King of Kong
The Corporation
The Fog of War (about war but is so much more than just a war doc)
SiCKO (sort of the only Michael Moore documentary that I liked. Maybe Bowling for Columbine but Michael Moore can't really be defined as a "documentary".)

Shadow Company.

I haven't seen this one yet but I'm gonna check it out.

It's about military contractors, like Blackwater, in Iraq.

http://www.shadowcompanythemovie.com/

there's the trailer on the website.

The corporation was very enjoyable as was the King of Kong. Did anyone else check out the extras on King of kong where they compared the two different methods side by side? That was cool.
I'd also recommend Jesus Camp.

They are documentaries. Just not very good ones. He leaves out tons of facts and contradicting evidence to make his point(s).

The documentary is critical of the modern-day corporation, considering it as a class of person and evaluating its behaviour towards society and the world at large as a psychatrist might evaluate an ordinary person. This is explored through specific examples.

tyson documentary was gay... i did watch it but it was more like. yeah, he was a great boxer, i want to see how great he was but that was it.
Religulous was decent, if you're a Christian, it would be a bit more entertainment.
2004oscar winner: Born into Brothels – Ross Kauffman and Zana Briski lady gives camera to girls to take pictures and take pictures. It's PG 13, not bad.
Sharkwater was just mehhhhh, i'm a scuba diver and I wasnt' that intertested, didnt' think it was that well done.
2008 Oscar: Man on Wire – Simon Chinn and James Marsh. Guy walks over the WTC in NY, it was decent, make sure you get the verison with sub titles.
2007: Taxi to the Dark Side – Alex Gibney and Eva Orner another great winner.
2006: An Inconvenient Truth – Davis Guggenheim, i did enjoy watching this even though it was Al Gore.
2006 contender: Jesus Camp – Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, wasn't the best, but if u're Christian, you would understand a bit more.
2005: March of the Penguins, enough said, great to watch during xmas cuddling with a gf
2002: Bowling for Columbine and sicko was by far my favorite.

Supersize me was great, Where in the world is Osama was crap.

Bagdad ER was a great documentary, talks about the war but very very graphic and blood and everything.

March of the Penguins was fucking retarded. Nothing worse than a "nature documentary" which anthropomorphises animals.

If you guys think Michael Moore is bad for "just telling his side" of the story, even worse are the shitty documentaries that not only show "one side" but are so full of shit and lies that they should no longer be considered "documentaries" and are more like fiction. Inconvenient Truth and Supersize Me fit into this category. Two of the worst documentaries, but have an incredible amount of hype because their bullshit fits into the recent trends of the general population's beliefs.

I prefer movies that question those beliefs.

If you do watch Supersize Me, and think it was good, then Fat Head should be mandatory to see.

Supersize Me- I hate with a passion. Guy eats an enormous amount of calories, does not exercise (more than his usual caloric intake) and gains weight. I don't see what is so shocking.

Yes- Americans are fat because they consume too much. No- You can not solely blame fat.

But I will check out the Penguins one and Shadow company.

I think I will make a list in no order:

1. The King of Kong
2. The Corporation
3. The Fog of War
4. Sharkwater
5. Home
6. Shadow Company
7. A funny thing happened on the way to the moon
8. Encounters at the End of the World
9. Grizzly Man
10. King of Kong
11. Anvil: The Story of Anvil
12. Jesus Camp
13. Bigger, Faster, Stronger
14. Religulous
15. Tyson-----> G.O.A.T
16. Born into Brothels
17. Biggy
18. Man on Wire
19. Taxi to the Dark Side
20. An Inconvenient Truth
21. March of the Penguins
22. Bowling for Columbine
23. Sicko
24. Fat head
25. Spellbound
26. The World at War - 26 parts BTW
27. Who killed the Electric car
28. Fast Food Nation
29. Manufacturing Consent - Noam Chomsky and the Media

Quite the list we have going so far and you can't go wrong with either one. All entertaining or informative and sometimes, both. Thanks to everybody

It's not a traditional informational documentary, but I laughed a lot and learned a little from watching The Yes Men. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379593/
