Well skiipi, I was telling my children about what you have done and that next year I wanted my sons to do something similar. My eldest said, "Why wait? I have money in my piggy bank." I told them I would match whatever they decided to donate, so off they ran, shook those banks and decided that they would give $10 each (that was all that was in my youngest son's, he keeps giving money away as it means nothing to him now).

I had spoken to Helping Hands yesterday about what items they may need and am trying to facilitate some free labour to rebuild their kitchen, but they did say that they needed warm clothes for men, as the local Women's Shelter takes care of the women and children quite well. With that in mind, we headed out to find a shop in town.

My eldest thought that Mark's Work Warehouse would have the best warm stuff, and a 'sweater like his', so in we go, and the manager happened to be near the front and asked if she could help find something? I explained what we were doing and she paused, looked at my little guys, and then she had a little welling in the eyes, which made me get a little teary as well. She said she could certainly help us out and she did.

I bumped in a bit more, but Mark's gave us 4 pairs of those same Heat socks skiipi pictured, 4 scarves, a pair of gloves, and a nice thick $70 sweater/hoodie (just like my sons) for $60. On the way to Helping Hands, we stopped at my wife's work and they donated 4 toques to their box and mom was quite proud of her little men; as am I. Proof that doing good by people (and even others seeing or hearing about the deeds, like this thread) is contagious.

Glad Mark's was able to give you a bit of a deal

So inspiring to see the young generation get involved in the act of giving!

My office has sent them donations the last few years and I don't think we've gotten much mail/email other than the usual thanks and such.

Today I was out and about picking up a few things and I saw an older guy standing by Walmart with a sign saying he's hungry and willing to work. I never give anyone cash but I'll buy anybody food so I walked up to him and asked what he likes to eat, he said just a cheeseburger. I asked if he wanted anything else with it and he said a coffee, double triple. So I strolled over to McDs and got him a double cheeseburger and an XL DT, then I saw they had gift cards so I loaded one up with $25 and brought it all over to him. I told him to keep warm and he wished me a merry christmas and we went our separate ways.

I was stopped at a intersection and noticed a cell phone laying on the street. I drove around the block and picked up the Iphone with wallet case. I quickly looked at the identification and remembered that I saw this guy crossing the intersection 5 minutes ago. I drove around the neighborhood and found the guy walking. I pulled over and flagged the guy down then presented him with his cell phone and said he dropped it when he was walking along the street. He said he was dealing with a house fire and was grateful for what i did. We shook hands and parted ways.

Feels good to do this so close to Christmas, since dealing with losing a phone and wallet is the last thing he needs going into the holidays.

Was at late night pho post-clubbing.
Girl at table next to ours left her phone so I grabbed it and ran after her. She was grateful and her friends were quite shocked that someone would return a phone. I just explained I know it would suck a lot to lose a phone.
Not the first time I've returned a phone to a girl... Always seems to be girls.
Hell I've returned an entire purse to a girl before...

Went to Costco to buy some Jumbo sized rice bags, cereal, and Kraft peanut butter and donated them to the local food bank today, in my "Santa Mobile".

Thread been dead lately............

Anyway, at around 10 pm yesterday, I stopped by the Starbucks on Boundary and Canada Way to redeem some coupons. I was approached by this woman who asked if I had jumper cables. I said no at first, but then remembered I had my portable charger thing I bought a few months back from KMS Tools. I told her I have this dinky little thing that may or may not work, as I've never had to use it. I get to her vehicle and it's a Honda Pilot. Husband was in car with little kid in child seat. They were pretty desperate and were in a hurry. I hooked up the thing and bam! the engine started immediately. They were so happy and I was just as happy to see this thing actually work.

I should have actually posted this on some tool thread, but wanted to bump this thread instead. I'll post more about the jump starter somewhere else. Keep posting good stories in this thread, RS.

Here's a small act....

I was standing outside Sushi California the other night waiting for a table. A young couple park their car and take their baby into the restaurant. After a couple minutes I came to the realization that he had left their headlights on after parking. I informed them about it and he was thankful for it. Although I found out he was going back outside later anyways lol

Never asked for a dime, wouldn't take one when he offered, and never even spoke a word about his condition; it was just a day to hang out, have fun, and forget about the world's problems for a day.

It was the second nice day of spring so I was doing all kinds of chores around the yard. I live in a quiet neighbourhood and usually say hello to anyone that passes. Up the road was coming a father and son on bikes, the little one on a small bike with training wheels that was much too small for him and therefore pedaling so slow the dad was having a hard time balancing at the snail's pace. I asked the father to wheel over - said I have a larger bike for his son and perhaps that would get them both moving faster and easier on the little guy's knees. He asked how much? I told him nothing - all I ask is that you pass it on to another little one that needs it when he is done - keep the karma going. The bike was the same brand as what he had and I even quickly found the training wheels for him. The father was very grateful they both left with a Happy Easter and big smiles.

My buddy and I went for Cha Time in Richmond after lunch. Came out to chill by the car while my buddy had a smoke. We see a mom and daughter running around the parking lot looking for someone. They asked us if we saw the accident that occurred a minute ago with a white vehicle that drove off. We told them that we didn't see anything, but I told her I can check my dash camera.

Lexus starts backing out and the white vehicle starts to back out right after. The Lexus started honking the white vehicle to stop backing out but the white vehicle has already hit the Lexus.

Both vehicles go back into their spots. The white vehicle backs out again and leaves while the daughter is catching the license plate? The daughter recited the wrong plate number. Good thing my dash camera got a glimpse of the plate number.

Mom and daughter see the scratches and try to go after the car.

Sent the video to the mother.
