Clutch Question

I haven't driven that many cars that are standard but usually when you try stalling or stall the car, it's supposed to give you that jerk movement right? well i recently drove my friend's car and stalled it and it didn't even give me that 'jerk' movement. it just stopped suddenly. does that mean the clutch is gonna go? don't know if it's a stupid question haha

If you stall a big car with a low torque engine, you'll feel it less than say a diesel pickup.

And no, it doesn't necessarily mean anything about the clutch cause the engine did, in fact, stall.

I believe it also has to do with rotating mass (ie, flywheel weight). I remember trying to drive a friend's car. He had a light aftermarket flywheel and until I got used to it, I stalled the hell out of it... the engine would kind of just die without a hugeass jerk.

not too sure if that has much to do with the clutch because if the clutch was gone, it just wouldn't stall at all.

put it in first drive out then go to 5th and see if bogs like shit. if it does clutch is good, if the revs go up, clutch is poo.

Why does the make of the car matter in this case?
