Cheap and Small 12V to 5V Switching Regulator - where to buy?

Anyone know where I can get a CHEAP + SMALL 12VDC (input) to 5VDC (output) switching regulator?

Hacking up a cigarette-lighter one won't work as it'll take up too much space. I need a flatter form factor, as it will be sitting flush against something flat.

http://www.robotshop.us/Dimension-En...-Regulato.html This is a good size, but these things are $15USD.

Under $10 would be way better as I plan on buying several (say 5-10).

Search on Maxim IC

http://para.maxim-ic.com/en/search.m...=powersupplies

Then get order samples (I think they give you up to 3).. and get the real deal from Digikey for large scale manufacture.

i would think something like MAX649 would work http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm/qv_pk/1139 should be pennies a piece.
