DINGS!

Just ending up with 2 dings in one day! I've always parked in far, isolated spaces with little or no cars around to minimize this problem, but it can't truly be avoided...

What are your tips to avoid dings?

And where is a reputable, good priced place to repair dings?

Go to dents unlimited in port moody, just went there a few weeks ago to repair like 8 dings on my car. It's not that cheap but quality wise they're good.

I ALWAYS park as far away from people as possible. I find it hilarious that at times I've come back to my car there's always someone parked right beside me, out of all places, when there are literally hundreds of spots available, some even closer than mine to the mall/store or wherever.

Thankfully I havent gotten any dings from them parking next to me. But yeah, it really cant be avoided. Just hope that you dont park next to an asshole

I love poles and walls. I try my best to park as close to them so as to leave the most room between the next car and I. I know that pole/wall won't ding my car but I can't say the same about other cars...

If I have a choice, I'd also park next to a nicer car than a shit box/ricers.

+1 for dents unlimited

Driving a smaller car also helps and parking next to one also

If you're really worried about em, those ugly side mouldings would help reduce the damage but then again the car would look worse with those then dings. (LOL neone seen the sienna that's surrounded by that cheap black plastic stuff?)

And don't go to costco or similar places where you know someone will try to squeeze a shopping cart in between cars

Curb spots are the best. and stick to the curb. Otherwise WIDE spots, or else park on the street. through the course of about 10 years daily driving my cars and sticking to those rules, I got about 5 dings in total. I parked everywhere, old aberdeen, parker place, continental, etc...

Now I just don't care anymore and I have gotten about 5 more dings in the past 2 years.

If you live in Richmond, don't bother fixing them dents.

Regardless if you fix them now or later, you'll receive them countless times as I have, even parked far away, isolated, and in between nice vehicles. The only time I would fix it, is if you were to sell your car privately.

fcuk richmond.

Dude I parked beside a E55 amg before thinking the owner would baby his car. Went in bbt place to eat, than later when I came out for a smoke I caught the owner (middle age asian) walking to his e55, FUCKING SWING HIS DOOR open, ding my car door so hard I can hear it half a parking lot away and just speed away like nothing happened.

Shit I would park beside a lightly modded import than baller euros especially in richmond the land of the lease cars.

^BBT in kerrisdale? they have stall parking? LOL I was there last night and paralleled right out front, fuck why'd I tint my windows? >.<

Another tip is not to park next to any N drivers or if you do park on their drivers side. their passengers tend not to care...

I'd recommend Glenn Korol from 'Dentique'. He's mobile and will come right to your car if need be. I see him work all the time and honestly he is an artist when it comes to dent removal. His prices are very reasonable, but it will depend on the dent. 778.838.0787.

Dents Unlimited and Dent King are also good.

if there is no chipping or cracking of the paint the dents car be repaired with no holes drilled or repainting, so it's pretty cheap. I know a guy in Ontario who does it.

I often find myself in the same situation. For some reason, many people feel the need to park beside someone. Unfortunately most people are stupid, so this behaviour is not exactly surprising.

Dentique is a little pricey but they do great work.

how about rock chips? I have a few on the hood of all places, and I made it every more visible with my crappy touch up skill. can the chips be touchup professionally by shops without repainting the whole section?

not sure, I don't think they can do much though. depending on the car/paint colour might find one cheaper at the wreckers than getting it repainted.

I drive a shit car and don't really care about dings, also I do have a strip of black plastic down the side of my car.

Old car, i parked next to nice cars. Next to posts. Away from everyone.
It's mostly all been stated and pretty common sense stuff, but you can't avoid the inevitable

Dent king came and fixed my C36 lemme show you the before pic

Right side: All but #1 and #2 was repaired paint free... #1 is basically crumpled steel with no entry point from behind so PLDR is not effective (think pokemon, it's not very effective! means it doesn't do jack). #2 was a very slightly bent door shell over the length of the door from opening it against a concrete pole base....
Left side: That dent is pulled out perfectly unless you look reaaaally close.

when I can, I try to park right next to restricted areas like where shopping carts are placed or near a handicapped spot,
I've been pretty lucky insofar though
