White or Black Belt

Would you get a white belt or a black belt? and Why?

In specific, this is JL slater belt... I received one as a gift, but I don't know if I want to go with the black or exchange it for the white?
It's the newer type with the smaller buckle..

Thanks

at first i thought karate for some reason. lol.
white if you wanna be more flashy, or black to be more conservative.
id go with black, just because it works all the time, and can be a classier look. white is sometimes too much.

Black. White screams douchebag, especially was the case with the old faggy big belt buckles JL usually uses.

And don't faux-tuck, that shit's retarded.

i match my belt colour to my shoe colour ;)

Yah that's pretty much a rule of thumb with formalwear and suits. I don't mind mixing it with casual stuff.

Black. White belts and white shoes are out and have been out for a long time now.

nosleepboy87 11-13-2009 09:23 PM

why does have this city where a white JL slater belt with R&R or TR jeans a white lacoste?

Black belt, works for dressy or casual occasions
white may get ur jeans rubbed on to them and it'll look like crap overtime

^actually i find white belts look better with the blue rubbed on them? but thats just me.

i have both, and i wear both but none of my belts are flashy with big belt buckles or anything gay like that. i usually stick with brown these days.

ilvtofu 11-14-2009 09:29 AM

^I don't mind when you're wearing them with jeans, but if you plan on using the belt for dress pants...

jdc430 11-14-2009 01:48 PM

BLACK. and of fred!

stewie 11-14-2009 01:55 PM

im wearing a white calvin klein belt right now with blue guess jeans and white adidas shoes...dosnt make me look like a douchebag at all...looks quite nice actually..

rickross888 11-14-2009 03:41 PM

i would say black belt since it's good for pretty much any occasion. if you already have lots of black belts then having a white one won't hurt. i myself have mostly black belts, a white one and a few brown belts.

I'd say it'd really depends on the wash of jeans you have. If you're wearing a light wash, get the black belt, dark wash, white belt. It really depends on your taste though.

yo guize, ima wear my blinged out ed hardy tshirt with over 100 rhinestones and my bootcut true relgions, for my choice of shoes and belt, ill wear my white JL slater belt that every 2nd asian guy has in vancouver and im going to pair it with my square-toe white loafers.

wsup den.

tyla 11-15-2009 07:20 PM

typical vancouver guy. lol

Gesus 11-15-2009 11:52 PM

i say you get the black. imo easier to match and jeans won't fade in it

JulyZerg 11-16-2009 02:32 PM
