violation ticket- 2copies?

i received a speeding ticket couple weeks ago.

i know i only have 30days to dispute the ticket

problem is,

i received 2 tickets,

(1) offender's copy - Blue
(2) enforcement officer's copy - Yellow.

i've never heard of this before, i thought i was only supposed to get 1 blue copy.

should i worry about it and go ahead, dispute it? or

can i just forget about it since there's no evidence the officer prove i actually did speed?

Thanks in advance.

You might have caught a break.

Though if it were me, I'd still go ahead and dispute it. JUST IN CASE.

That is if you actually believe you weren't speeding.

Not sure, but maybe there's three copies, ICBC's copy, your copy and the officer's copy. I believe they have to submit a copy to ICBC.

And regardless, he has notes about it.

The top white copy goes to the Court system...the yellow is supposed to be retained by the issuing officer and you get the blue. All the Cop has to to is photocopy the white top copy and place that in his court file and send the original along to ticket processing as usual..

Actually, a VT has 4 copies, white for ICBC, blue for the accused, green for the enforcement agency and yellow for the officer. He still has the green copy to go by, or as zulutango says, may simply photocopy the white one.

Usually the bottom two copies are hard to read. The carbon doesn't print that well at that depth. If I had a contested VT I always photocopied the best available copy to bring out the lettering better.
