City of Vancouver New Business Strategy

For those of us that CARPOOL on Hastings to get to work. You may be in for a surprise! The City of Vancouver has recently installed a new Bus Lane to catch all of those unsuspecting HOV lane users that come in from the Tricities and Burnaby. This looks a little like entrapment to me. Yesterday in the span of 5mins, I watched 5 cars get pulled into a parking lot and all get issued tickets for "Occupying a Bus Lane". How can the city just go and change the lane regulations without any clear warnings? I know the city is running a deficit, but this is not the right way to generate revenue.

PAST:
HOV Lane from Port Moody to Vancouver (Renfrew)

Now:
HOV Lane from Port Moody to Burnaby (Boundary)
Bus Lane from Boundary to Main.
