Picked up my new bike from Point Roberts, only $48 in GST when crossing.

Went for a spin around the block, soo smooth. Tektro pads and FSA BB will be soon to go.

been eying this for a while. What is RS's thoughts? It looks damn nice but dunno if I'd want to use it for the street. But then if the guy is selling for 975, it's only slightly more expensive than the Langster street.
$850 right now. I almost bought the frameset from citygrounds for 660. With omnium cranks and American classic wheels is a steal. Little too much for street use and I wouldn't want to put brakes on those rims.

Yep, I did. Sold out event, at 1250 participants. Not bad, except the 15 minutes of downpour right at the start. I think lots of people brought their 'sunny day' rides, only to be rained on! lol! Lots of rolling hills. I had a pretty good ride, despite getting a flat. =( Post ride food was just meh, but the free beer is always good. And it's not a race, it's a ride!

^ I left my rain jacket in the car and instantly regretted it at the start. Luckily the rain didn't last too long.
Food was definitely meh, beer is great hahah

I did mine @ Cap's New West because I had a free tuneup with my purchased bike. Friends always go to MEC and never had any issues.

Anybody keeping up with the TdF this year? Overall, I didn't find it very exciting especially with all the superstar riders dropping out due to illness and/or injury/crashes.

If I had to pick my most favourite moment of the Tour, it'd be the breakaway on stage 15 by Jack Bauer of Garmin-Sharp and Martin Elmiger of IAM. Such a disappointing and heartbreaking moment, only to have the stage win stolen by Alexander Kristoff of Team Katusha and the usual suspects.

Bike noob here! Picked up this baby over the weekend. In the process of inflating the rear tire with air, I managed to break the presta valve and today I learned how to change my first ever tube! Rode it for a good hour today but I'm already planning to replace the tires with road tires.

Nice! Go clipless, once you do, you never want to go back to a platform pedal. Ever since I got my Shimano A530 dual clipless/platform, I've never used the platform side. Live and learn.

Ate the biggest bag of proverbial dicks during a failed track stand bc some other guy was doing a track stand and my ego took over.

Best part was the group of 6 commuters behind me mostly women.

I did not feel so dapper

Yup. I go there and so do a few guys here on RS.

We've all had nothing but great experience and service at Pacific Multisport. Some RS members who go there, I've never met so it's not like I told them "OMG FUCKING BEST SHOP In VANCOUVER!!!!" The reason why we go back is because of the great experiences and service.

The only other bad experience from an RS member was a while back where a fitting was done but not to the satisfaction of the RS member who never followed up so…yeah.

Plenty of bike shops in the GVRD so where you go is up to you. Maybe try Mighty Riders, La Bicicletta or Speed Theory next time?

aalex - Sorry to hear about your bad experience. If you truly are unhappy (which I can only assume you are) I would suggest you go back and speak to John and Ian. They're great guys and they've both taken good care of us so maybe give them a heads up again and let them make it up to you? Just a suggestion and FYI - I have no affiliation with the shop. Just a happy customer. Good luck!

There's always 2 sides to a story.

I've heard good things about PMS as well.

Usually something like this is due to lack of or break down in communication somewhere.

After I was hit by a car last summer, I took my bike to PMS for repairs. Name dropped bcrdukes They fixed it and only charged me for the replacement parts, gave me a free bike fitting as well.

I took my hybrid there for a tune up last week. It's still at the shop, untouched. I guess they're busy due to the summer and all the upcoming events.

I have some wheel hub woes. Sounds like a loose berring or something when the free wheel is turning. It's that dreaded marble-rolling-on-table sound. faaaaaakkkk.

Anyone know if the hub can be repaired?
