I keep telling people to come look at my older mountain bikes!! Tuned and ready to roll! Cheaper than renting a bike to go around the seawall!
Throw some slicks on it, and you're set to commute!
Even though I have some road bikes, hybrids, touring bike, bmx's...you know what I commute on? My 1989 Rocky Mountain Fusion MOUNTAIN BIKE. Yes, I put some slicks on it for better rolling, but I still find it fairly light and nimble, and a good riding position.

I saw this today...and just could not resist!! Ack, I must have a problem...hahaha..

Roughly 2001, Italian made Dedacciai frame, Fondriest Top Level in Lampre-Daikin team colour! Came with the matching fork which is half carbon.
Yes, it's not Carb Level, but hard to be picky when you're getting an older bike. It's in near mint condition though, never been built up! Yes, the colours are so retro...

I love those chain-stays!
Decisions, decisions...keep and build up, or sell to fund my other projects!
If I keep, then must source out a Campy gruppo. =(

I know this is probably not the thread to sell...but anybody need some tires? I got some older new (NOS) Vittoria Pro-Team Open Corsa CX & Open Extreme (with Kevlar belt) twin thread racing tYres. These are hand made clincher tYres. 130-170 PSI!
I got in 700x19c in Orange(2 non-Kevlar) and Yellow(3) and
700x20c in Grey (7 Kevlar). Offers on the lot? I've got plenty of other tires to use so...and I got to fund my projects. Or $25 each.

Anyone building an old Colnago or other old vintage bike? I have some Colnago mini pumps kicking around that I don't need, a couple of saddles, and a 1" Nitto Technomic quill stem (90cm). It's all got to go!!

Sorry I was not able to ride with you guys today. I had a crash Friday night and I'm still in the hospital awaiting surgery. No updates for awhile from me. Ride safe guys and girls.

Haha sorry man, I would not have been able to keep up. I rode 2 laps around Stanley Park and it was brutal, from the very moment I left the house to the moment I got home. I need to recover.

Thanks to everybody for all the help... picked up a new bike for myself and one for the girlfriend, both from Sportcheck, and both were screaming good deals!

I bought a 2011 Jamis Ventura Race... 105 shifters & derailleurs, full carbon fork including steerer, carbon wrapped post... sticker was $1429, reduced to $1119 on the sticker, down to $897 after the team discount!!!

Also picked this one up for the girlfriend... 2012 Jamis Ventura Sport Femme. Price was $799, down to $599 on sale, and then 20% off for a total of $479!!!

Pick them up tomorrow, I can't wait! I picked up some 105 pedals, a Cateye Strada wireless computer, and an elite custom bottle cage from Jenson for $153 all-in including shipping to Vancouver courtesy of Jenson!

SOOO stoked haha it's ridiculous, I can't even contain myself... sorry for the blabbering on!

Mark

bcrdukes - I was riding Friday night with a good friend of mine around Olympic Village. On the way back under the Cambie Street Bridge, I took a turn at speed and hit a gravel patch and the front tire washed out from under me and I smashed my face into the handle bar and the ground. End result was a broken jaw in 2 places, 6 stitches, 4 teeth loose, 1 tooth chipped and a bunch bruises and road rash.

Did you grab your bike today from metro at around 6pm?
I saw a guy walking out with these two exact bikes, and thought of this thread.

What kind of bags do you guys use with your road bikes? I'm not too fond of riding with my backpack and all I really need to carry are my wallet, phone, keys, patch kit, extra tube and a pump.
