Out for a week. Ate shit on my cross bike, shoulder checked the cement and tore a tiny hole in my rapha city jacket. I was so upset lol
Shoulder kills but nothing broken or torn.

Yes, definitely my fault. Long story short I came home to find that all the cars in our driveway got rummaged through, i'm guessing the bums were trying to find change or a garage door remote. My brother was taking a look at the cars so i decided to hop on my bike and ride around my block/cul-de-sac just to see if a bum was going around to each of the houses. It was 4am... cold / wet / slippery.
I was leaning into a sharp u-turn and just went down, all shoulder and hand. Purely my fault. It was stupid lol.

I'm putting my Cervelo SLC-SL up for sale. It's too much bike for me, I'm not worthy. RS'ers get first dibs. Size 54 frame, 545mm tt length; 555mm stack and 376mm reach. Weighs just over 17lbs including pedals with current heavy-ish wheels, can break into the 15's with relative ease. I'm 5'8" with a 32" inseam for sizing reference. This beast was a $4500 frame and 3T fork only back when it was new, and has spawned the current s2 and s3. It's been a garage queen, only ridden on dry days, and is in very good condition.
I've got my eyes set on a down graded bike, so an expedited sale would be appreciated and I'd rather not deal with the Craigslist tire kickers and time wasters at this time. RS special pricing is $2100

Anyone ever go on the BC Conquer Cancer Ride and experience both a 50/34 and 53/39? Curious on which one I should use on my first time out.

Posted via RS Mobile | Yeah, I used it on both my bikes before I sold one. I find the 50T chainring is a little lacking on flat and I can still climb ok on the 50T as long as I'm on 17T or 19T on the rear cassette.
Will probably keep one compact and one standard and swap depending on how I want to ride.

The RTCC is mostly flat. I'd say 85%. One or two larger hills on the second day but they're short. Maybe about the distance of two prospect point segments, which is manageable if you go at a reasonable pace.

I love it...it looks good and is very functional. Not a huge issue that it doesnt come with mounting hw...just swing by Home Depot to pick something up. I find both the 50 and 34 a bit small, but the 39 is too big for those big long climbs and 38 is the smallest that will fit on standard cranks. First time on my Specialized Tricross sport triple with a 50/39/30 setup and the second time on my previous Giant TCR Comp with a standard 52/39 setup.
I really dont remember too much of a difference when it came to doing the R2CC...could be although I had more gearing options with the triple, I was on a much heavier bike and rolling on 32c knobby tires. And then when on the standard double, I was on a much lighter carbon bike and proper road tires. I would assume the major difference in bike/setup wouldnt give me as good a comparison as compared to having the same bike with the different gearing setup.
I think its very doable with either a compact or a standard...and at the end of the day...personal preference? and what you want to get out of it? Without question the standard is going be tougher on the hills...which there definitely are a few on both days...but if you're an avid biker, you should be able to tackle those hills almost as well with a standard setup.
