LF: Upscale Casual / Fine Dining Downtown Taking wifey downtown for New Years and staying at the Sheraton Wall Centre. Likely going to the Commodore and I'm looking for a great place to take her for dinner. After doing some research, I found Le Crocodile Restaurant http://lecrocodilerestaurant.com/ which happens to be on the way. Anyone have any experience at Le Crocodile? Any other good restaurants around the Wall Centre or Commodore I should check out? TIA. |
Le Crocodile is the best French restaurant in Vancouver in my opinion. Not a shallow trendy new spot (Coast/Society/etc.) but made for people who love their food. Quite highly rated as well per Zagat; Food 27/30, Decor 23/30, Service 26/30. More reviews about them: http://imperialhotelmanagementcolleg...rip-today.html |
^ Thanks for the link. Sounds like a nice spot to check out for sure. There is a set menu for New Years and the Second Seating is $150 each. Thats a little too rich for my blood. Anyone able to recommend something nearby if I'm unable to get in on the First Seating? |
Check this place out. http://www.shangri-la.com/en/propert...taurant/market http://www.shangri-la.com/uploadedIm...ge_regular.jpg http://assets.urbanspoon.com/w/s/aj/...TguAz-640m.jpg http://assets.urbanspoon.com/w/s/aI/...ZZYbg-640m.jpg http://assets.urbanspoon.com/w/s/Yx/...B2uzk-640m.jpg Reviews and pictures of food here. http://lapetitevancouver.blogspot.co...n-georges.html http://imonlyhereforthefood.com/2009...-jean-georges/ Enjoy. |
i think both market and le crocodile is going to be great. can't go wrong! |
lots of choices downtown. There's a nice restaurant downstairs from the hotel on the corner of Burrard and Helmcken |
Made reservations for Le Croc today. Thanks to those who replied. |
How was your eating experience?? |
Le croc has great food. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. |
My favourite is the rack of lamb at le crocodile. |
I haven't been there in many years, but I found Bacchus to be very nice and romantic, and the food and service was good too. We stayed at the hotel too, and it was a great experience, much more intimate than normal hotels. |
haha, my old manager at a restaurant i used to work at is the manager of bacchus now. look out for a guy who is a walking stiff. his arms don't move when he walks. |
i havent been to bacchus in about 2-3 years now but i remember it being super romantical with a great atmosphere and the food was equally delicious. mmm..... |
yo why you want eat white food lol too expensive no good |
^why would anyone want to eat abalone? why would anyone want to eat caviar? fail. |
Le Crocodile is excellent! Very classy and up-scale. Lol, when I went there, one of the waiters dropped a forked and the french boss-lady gave him the most intimidating look ever. Food was also great! Very romantic mood in there + chocolate crocs after dinner was pretty good too! |
