"Recommend me a show" thread

I grew up with a full 9 month/26 episode television season but it seems that more and more we see shows running 13 episodes a year. It makes room for greater variety but we can end up missing something good if we're not avidly glued to the set.

Heres where you can recommend a show to Revscenesters who otherwise may not know about it.

I'll sticky this for a while to see if we get any interest.

Follow this template:

Show name:
Where/When can I find it?:
Who's in it?:
Why should I watch it?:
Rating: (out of 5 * stars)
Additional comments:

Show name: Eastbound and Down
Where/When can I find it?: Sundays on HBO.
Who's in it?: Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder, Hot Rod, Land of the Lost), Will Ferrell, Adam McKay (SNL, 30 Rock)
Why should I watch it?: Its a profile of every washed up, ungrateful, self-absorbed sports star. The main character (Kenny Powers) is a former baseball star who was kicked out of MLB and is now the PE teacher at his former high school.
Rating: ****
Additional comments:

Its ok, I can see how it'll get better, but its a little early to judge after a 6 episode first season. After the cliffhanger at the end of S1 it can go either way.

This sets the tone of the series nicely

Show name: Michael And Michael Have Issues
Where/When can I find it?: The Comedy Network. Its on sometimes. I can't find when its on. I duno. Their website sucks.
Who's in it?: Michael Ian Black (The State, Reaper), Michael Showalter (The State)
Why should I watch it?: It centers around a two person comedy skit show and the petty behind-the-scenes petty squabbling between the two. Its funny enough but not exactly as good as The State or the recently cancelled Reno 911
Rating: ***
Additional comments:

I couldn't find a clip of the show so heres Michael Ian Black reading a poem called "If I Had A Slave"

Who's in it?: no one worth mentioning, created by Peter Berg.
Why should I watch it?: Great show about high school football in Texas. I don't particularly like football but I love the show and it really draws you into the game even if you aren't a fan. If you liked the movie you'll love the tv series.
