lost my care card / sin card how do i go about replacing my care card? is it a long process for the sin card, are they able to just give me a new card with my old # or do they have to make me a new #? |
^ Crummy deal man. Take a look at this first and I hope it helps. Turnaround time for both the SIN and Care Card are typically very quick. If I recall correctly, my dad got his within a week from the day we sent it to the day he got his replacement. The same goes for his Social Insurance Card. Good luck! Edit: In regards to the fee for your BC Care Card, you may or may not be charged for it. My dad, brother, and myself requested a new one and although we sent them a cheque to pay the fee for a replacement, they sent our cheque back saying that it was not necessary. :) |
thanks a lot man appreciate it |
oh a somewhat related note, is it possible to get my citizenship id replaced? it's not damaged or anything, its just that the picture on the id was from when i was 8 or 10 years old. the link only points to getting the card replaced due to damage or stolen and i heard getting the citizen card replaced is a big pain in the ass. |
That's weird, when my mom inquired about getting my care card when I moved in with her in 1998 (my dad had lost it), they told her they don't reissue them. |
Quote:
Ware and tare over the years will destroy the card and so they have to reissue. |
Hmm, thanks, I'll have to look into getting one re-issued then :) |
