Went to Congee Noodle House yesterday, kinda disappointed that not a single item on the set menu was a congee bowl... but anyways ordered the preserved egg and shredded pork, Couldn't say it tasted any better than the No. 9 one personally. When I got to the bottom of the bowl it started getting really salty and the pork was really salty as well, preserved egg was pretty good though.

Will try another place soon enough.

Did you stir up the shredded pork first so it doesn't all sit at the bottom?

There is also a Congee noodle house on kingsway and joyce right across from the 711.
Best congee in Vancouver IMO. Also at #9, you can't get a chinese donut but I still go there once in awhile.

It is the same thing. Menu is pretty much the same and the guy with the STI at the broadway location is also at that one. Congee is the same but the chinese donuts are not as good at this one for some reason.

best congee is at Garden City Hot Pot. you're served the congee 'base' in a hotpot and u select your own ingredients. geoduck ftw

the congee base, 粥底, is the most important thing for congee. if it's good enuf, i'm more than willing to have just plain congee.
