Criminal Record?

The other day a police officer caught me and my girlfriend having sex at night in my car (we were parked along side a construction vehicle on a service road near the airport). Both of us had never been in trouble with the law before, therefore he let us off with a warning but he said he will make a file for both of us. I am wondering what does this 'file' mean? Does it mean we have a criminal record? Furthermore, if my girlfriend and I were to have a record check done on us (lets say for a job such as working in a daycare facility), will this incident appear?

It means he wrote up a file with your names in it and nothing more.

Now go and get a hotel room.

He will have created a police file that will document who he dealt with and the situation. That file will live on through police-file history, but no criminal record will materialize because of it. It will not show up in a criminal record check, but will be available in a police record check.

^ True. This happened to me, minus the car sex. It's just a notation on your file for the police with what the officer dealt with.

Even if you are finger printed, that doesn't mean you will have a criminal record. You need to be convicted of something to have a crininal record.

Now, being arrested will give you a police record and then in the media can say you were known to the police.

OT

just curious, how did you react to the situation? did he knock on your window or someshit when he was approaching? haha

blackonblack 01-17-2010 11:32 PM

yes your name will just be entered into the police database system, even if you are drunk in public things like aren't considered criminal.

Yeah if it's something serious then you would have to go court to get convicted
