Las Tortas: Mexican Sandwiches on Cambie St. Las Tortas Dropped by this place and its quite good. I had the Chorizo con Huevo. Its a Mexican sandwich with crumbled chorizo sausage, scrambled egg, tomato, cabbage, pickled onions and jalapenos, guacamole, refried beans, and mayo. It was the torta of the day, which is a $10 deal for the sandwich, in house made fresh potato chips, and daily agua frescas (I got iced habiscus tea, called Jamaica). Chips were nice and crispy, and the Jamaica drink was refreshing and complimented the sandwich. Finished with a Tres Leches, which means "Three Milk Cake". A nice light dessert with a fluffy cake soaked in a sweet milk mixture. Overall its a great place to grab a fresh and flavourful lunch. Downsides include limited seating and the menu is somewhat expensive when not getting the $10 daily meal. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...45edit_640.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...44edit_640.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...46edit_640.jpg |
Yea, this place has mad reviews on urbanspoon.com |
Price does not justify the food. It's good but 10 dollars a pop on a sandwich is a been out there. That is what puts me off. |
the inhouse made chips are AWESOME with the dip they give you, kinda overpriced and out of my way but well worth it, lol only other place i go for tortas is duffin donuts + los tortas.. any of you RS'ers got any other recommendation :) |
chips are so good and crunchy! |
the daily $10 special doesnt seem that bad, as I've spent $10 for a sandwich/beer @ Social before.. hm...thanks jlo |
