Turbo Civic vs Aircare

Hi there, I've got a 1996 turbo'd d16y8 and aircare is due this spring. Right now its running rich and 3" skunk2 exhaust with test pipe. Know I need to get a cat, but what one? Am I able to get a OEM cat from a integra or something. or do i need to buy a high flow and get it welded up. This is going to be strictly for aircare. Next gonna get a better tune and advance the timing, anything else I can do to "assist" passing aircare without going back to N/A?

You'll need a cat regardless, but the good thing is, you just have to have one there. Even if you still have your old one kicking around your garage, that will do just fine. Otherwise, get the cheapest one that you can find that will work on your car.

Wish I could offer more tips, but I've never had to get a boosted car through aircare. I do know that some shops can get your car through aircare as a last resort. (Legally of course, but it'll cost you in shop tuning time)

On cars where tuning the fuel/ignition maps isn't an option we install GTR cats.

Aircare is up for review in the Spring, http://www.theprovince.com/AirCare+l...426/story.html Hopefully it's true, then it's clear sailings by 2012.
