Yeah, the couple first episodes started off slow, just seemed like a porno, but then keep watching as the story unravels.

Can't believe no one has said this yet, I figured it would make people want to watch this show but uhmm Peter Mensah (Doctore) or the dude with the whip was the messenger from 300.

I just watched ep 1-13 in under a week. The first few episodes came across as fake, trying too hard, sin-city wannabe, crap, but the storyline kept me sucked in. The last 5 episodes were fan-fucking-tastic.

The only problem now is refraining from using the term 'Jupiter's COCK' everytime I get pissed off.

Bringing up an old thread but I just watched the whole season in the past couple weeks. Once I got past the first 2 episodes the show grew on me fast. Can't wait for season 2.

Back to the top. I finished it all in two days

At first glance I didn't really enjoy the CG (some of then were really just pushing it), but the plot was very engaging to say the least.

I just finished the first season, and I can't wait for a sequel depicting the actual slave wars.
The rumored prequel will be worth watching too.

Prequel was just to give the dude that plays Spartacus a bit more time to recover from non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) is dropping out of Season 2, due to the recurrence of cancer.

Quote:
In case you weren’t already aware, lead actor Andy Whitfield has dropped out of the Starz epic series Spartacus: Blood and Sand in order to receive more treatment for his Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It’s been up in the air as to whether or not the series would simply come to an end, or if Whitfield would be replaced, but now EW brings word that Starz is moving forward with the series and re-casting his role. Who’s strapping on the sandals? Apparently Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has expressed interest in taking over the titular role of the series. Since Fox’s prison escape series ended, Miller hasn’t done anything on television, so now would be a good time to make his return. A bit disappointing the Whitfield isn’t returning under the circumstances so we wish him well and hope for a quick recovery. We’ll keep you posted as this story develops. What do you Spartacus fans think of Wentworth Miller in the role?
