freebie parking ticket wont work anymore?

I called in today they said it was over December last year, is that true.Reason was that i was at the hospital for eye surgery checkup and doing tests and i couldnt leave, so the time went past. Any chance i could dispute it for this reason? Is this a reasonable excuse to present in court? Note: I paid for the full 2hrs limit and ending up being there for longer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, not a valid reason. Unless the meter is broken or it wasn't you that was parked there, you're pretty much hooped.

^ Is it true that a broken meter = free parking? (I'm not talking about them covering them up for special events etc)

i went in for a regular checkup, paid for the 2 hrs and turns out doc wants an emergency test to see why i cant see, 30 mins later i see a ticket. Sometimes shits outa your control and there nothing you can do about it.

^ not true you cant park at a broken meter.

WTFAIL???

Shoulda told the doc not to fix your sight, then you wouldn't have seen the ticket!

And what are you doing driving in the first place, if you can't see?!

My guess is that its cause we're now in $3 billion of debt, so the city needs to somehow get more money.

jlenko 02-16-2010 10:57 PM

From what I've been able to find on 'the Google'... it ended December 4th, 2009.

xilley 02-17-2010 05:50 PM

how much was the ticket?

sebberry 02-17-2010 06:36 PM

Could you imagine having your car towed for that?

it'd be pretty gay

RenoMan 02-18-2010 04:22 PM

That probably why they took it out. Money hungry

Read what the meter says. Something along the lines of how it is illegal to part at a broken meter.

Couldn't you just say that you fed the meter anyways but it was broken so it didn't register?

If it still flashes "0000" on the meter... then you would be able to tell that it didn't register. You still get a ticket, and now there's no freebie to get off...

Here's a hint... if you put one coin in, and it doesn't register... don't bother putting a second one in it!! ;)
