Where to buy Oysters?

Just wondering if you guys could help me locate some places to buy raw oysters. Generally i go down to lobsterman in granville island, their oysters are always fresh, but just wondering if there are any other places. And I don't mean places like t&t or chong lee...I like a nice variety, thanks.

Lobster Man is probably the best place in the GVRD that I know of. At least for the general public.

Yes, but there are more than one variety of oyster - and big doesn't mean good with oysters. In fact it's quite the opposite in many cases.

Yeah i think the safeway ones are just beach oysters just like chong lee and t&t, which are pretty cheap, and not that great, if you've had lobsterman oysters, you'd notice a big difference in quality. Gonna go pick some up today as well =)

how much are they at lobster man? Oh, can you eat there? Or is it like buy and take home to prepare yourself?

I been to the Oyster sea food place at North Vancouver. It was around $2.50 each with a selection of 3 oysters. The golden _____, the Effing Ham, and something else.

It was alright but I found it a bit pricy.

No, you buy it and take it home. Prices vary on the variety. The beach oysters are cheap, but the premium ones like the Kusshi are about $2 each.

North Van place is a rip, Lobersterman has oysters starting from 0.80 or 8.95 a dozen I think. I went down and grabbed a dozen of sinku oysters and royal miyagi's and had myself a feast.

My wife buys oysters from Seven Seas and did not have to buy 5 dozen. She bought 1 dozen for $5.

I believe its been proven it is not unless the situation is that the lady has lost in the desert for weeks with no food and you were the first person she sees with a bucket of oysters ...
