Vehicle Inspection Hi Revscene! I just recently got a VI for no "apparent" reason (in which the officer did not describe any reason to get a VI done). I was just about to sell the vehicle when this occurred. I am still responsible of getting it inspected if I sell the car? Also, would the new owner become liable for the VI? Thanks!! |
The autoplan insurance agent won't be able to transfer ownership until the VI is completed |
And the last time I looked, there was a box to check on the transfer paper advising the purchaser that a VI was outstanding. |
I find it strange that the Cop just stopped you and with no discussion at all about why he stopped you, issued you a VI. Absoloutely nothing about the mechanical condition of your stock vehicle was mentioned? What sort of mods have you done to it that might attract attention..tint, exhaust, lowered, HID "conversion", wide tyres????? |
Edited for possibly being wrong... (transfer ownership trick w/in 30 days... never done it but heard of others doing it...) I am really curious what was up with the OP's car... sounds like there is more to the story... |
transferring won't work its already in the system |
kinda doubt the cop would give you a VI if ur car was STOCK |
They would if it was stock in poor state of repair. |

I see so many cars that look like they are about to fall apart at any moment... |
Sometimes those looks are deceiving. There was the odd occasion where something looked like junk but once I had checked it I found that the lights all lit, the steering was tight and so on. |
Those type of cars are called ..."divorced man's cars"...:) The drivers are usually in worse shape than the cars. |
