Where to get universal car alarm remote

I have 2 remote controls for the basic AutoPage alarm in my car, and I broke one of them. I wanted to get a replacement, but the shop that installed the alarm said AutoPage doesn't sell that model anymore/there's no such thing as replacement remote (I forgot what it was). The point is the shop said I have to purchase a new system instead.

I don't want to spend a couple hundred of dollars on a car I don't know how long I will keep, so I was wondering if there's any place I can get an universal car alarm remote where I can just program it.

Thanks.
