I heard somewhere that Honda might be facing the same issues with all the parts problems as Toyotas facing? Because both Toyota and Honda buy parts from a third party company, and most of the defects are coming from them, but Hondas problems just hasn't gotten out yet.

Is that true?

Man, Toyota can't get away from frame corrosion in their trucks. There was a recall a while back for '95-'00 Tacoma's with rusty frames as well.

And for what it's worth, this recall was issued last year, before the UA recall...

Yeah this recall was put out a while ago, I believe it has to to with the rear tire carrier rusting. In a worst case situation if the carrier rusts enough the spare tire falls off. Thinking of it, if the carrier were rusting this might be more common for trucks owned by people with boats, having the rear end in the salt water and not washing them off after.
