cheapest company to rent a car from?

hey everyone,

what is the absolute cheapest car company to rent a car from?

one - two week rental. i'm hoping there are some smaller, private

companies who rent for real cheap on weekly basis.

thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to reply & help me out.

anyone?

just to let you know budget n enterpise both offer price matches.

So basically, you can go in there and bargain you way into better rates.

I once rented a small size car from enterprise for 700 a month tax in (and i used my road side plus for insurance) but dont know if that deal still exist.

hope that helps

A Plus Rent a Car in Richmond Auto Mall and North Vancouver.

Privately owned, and rather cheap rates from my experience.
Can't remember the rates off the top of my head, but worth checking out for sure.

If it's not expensive, why didn't you get me a bigger car?!

Two weeks (Mar 17-31) with Budget = $287 + $99 taxes and fees. Intermediate 4DR car (Pontiac G6 or similar).

This is with Costco membership. Our family used this to our advantage in the summer - 4000km road trip in a rental car, haha.

i found enterprise to offer fair deals. check your credit card benefits too. often your card pays for the insurance so you dont need to pay additional fees for insurance. my roommates back in school used to rent a car for the weekend for $30 and 1 guy had a gold mastercard so we didnt have to pay the additional $xx for insurance. it was awesome

4runner21 03-17-2010 03:57 PM

wow, thanks everyone...the credit card benefits and the costco membership will defnitely
be looked into. appreciate it guys, really!

roastpuff 03-18-2010 01:35 PM

Yeah, forgot about that too! To save on insurance costs, use a Visa or Mastercard or Amex that has rental car coverage.

if you have roadstar plus you are also covered for insurance.

Good way to get a free car upgrade is to say you want a bigger car, and that you will need to buy the extra insurance. That way they will upgrade you or give you a discount on the car because they want the insurance sales. The next day go to a different branch and cancel the unneeded insurance. Profit!
