Thanks for the heads-up. Really sorry to hear this... cops have been REALLY anal in Richmond for the past few weeks.
A cop pulled me over while driving the g/f's car in Richmond. They checked for front window tint, DRL, exhaust, and other stuff. I got off with warnings as the DRLs are hooked up to the parking light (won't come on until the handbrake is released), exhaust tip too big (4") and excessive noise from the exhaust.

Well no flat bed, just a regular tow truck with dollies.

And on top of that he wrote on the ticket to specificly bring it to a honda dealership for the vehicle inspection.

The road block is gone now on no5 and williams.

And I'm now sitting at a bus stop waiting to get picked up =.=

wait... isnt that the correct way for DRL operation?
if it's not then most cars out there r in violation becuase the DRLs wont come on unless handbrake is released, if its the parking lights then all the older model caravan's r in violations cause they use their corner/parking lights as DRls.

On top of that he told me to bring it to Honda for a vehicle inspection. So do I really have to bring it there? Cause I have a feeling they're gonna rape my wallet pretty bad.

I'm not sure on what the MVA says regarding DRLs, but my argument for the officer is that if I'm driving my car, my handbrake will be released, and therefore, my DRLs will be functional before I start driving. I know EXACTLY what you're talking about regarding the Caravan; I drove one for 2 years lol.

VPD they worry about bigger things, they're not nit picky like the RCMP.

But really really fucking shitty about the car getting towed on the spot.

Currently making my trip back home on the canada line right now.

you dont have to bring it to a honda dealer, thats bullsh!t.
FYI, not every honda dealer can even do this inspection. I work at Honda and we dont do this inspection. So you can bring it to any designated inspection facility. Was the cop that gave you that asian? Chan or something?

No it was a brown cop actually, I was thinking to myself does honda really do vehicle inspections?!?

He kept rambling on mentioning that a lot of the shops are sketchy and letting cars pass for cheap price.

Richmond is big enough to have their own police force, I don't understand why they still use the RCMP...

Oak fucking Bay has their own police force and they only have a population of 18,000...

As far as I know the officer cannot tell you where to go for the VI, and it's true that a lot of dealership aren't cannot perform vehicle inspections because they simply don't have techs holding provincial vehicle inspection licenses. Besides, a friend of mine with a highly modified car passed VI at a Honda dealership without a catalytic converter and another friend had a legitimate VI torn in front of him by an officer.

It's $120 for a vehicle inspection at a Honda Dealership (the one on Marine right off the Arthur Liang bridge).
