Got in a little accident today

got in a little accident today, just wanted to know how much the estimate cost would be to fix this? before i go to icbc or an autobody shop, just wanted a general idea

passenger fender is warped and slightly off, bumper is damaged and it looks like the fitment of the hood got shifted. other than that, i think everything else is fine

in a similar hit (not quite as much damage) my friend got $900 to fix his 89 Camry, then he just went to Pick and Pull and got a new turn signal for cheap.

I'm thinking it can be fixed under $1200.

But don't quote me on that though.

that's a total. Price of a Tercel, price of repair, consider those, this car is toast.

doubt it's gonna be under $1K. the fender is way off.
do you know any bodyshops? connections? drop by one and they'll do a free estimate.

i know of one in north van, shoot me a PM if interested.

I'm no professional, but from the looks of it, I will estimate that it's a total loss:

From what my eyes can see:
Corner light: $30-70
Side fender needs reshaping and repainting or replacement: $300-500
Front bumper needs reshaping or replacement (missing "safety" plastic piece too!): $300-800
Hood edge looks slightly damaged: $100-200
Front Grill looks pretty misaligned: More money here depending on how much internal damage there is

Like others said, just drop by a body shop and get a rough estimate... to get it properly fixed, it'll probably cost over 1k.

off topic question: i wouldn't be able to use this for my road test as i have it coming up because this was the car i was gonna use, the turn signals still work or is it considered unsafe to drive?

As long as all signals work, and the damage doesn't go into the engine or will cause the engine to potentially die out at any time, you should be fine. But I'm not 100% sure on that.

But as a side note:
If the accident was your fault, wouldn't you not be able to take your road test for another 2 years?

get a corner signal cover, glue it back on and call it a day.

the labour is going to cost more than your car.

if you clean it up and replace that broken turn signal, then make sure the fender liner doesn't rub at all, you should be good to go. with the light fixed and the car washed, the only damage would look to be a slight bend on that one corner of the fender, and an increased gap between the fender and bumper cover.

Go buy a $10 hammer.
Take off the fender and corner lamp.
Whack the light support until it looks even.
Replace corner lamp with one from the junkyard.
Put fender back on.
If its not straight enough. Put the fender on and bolt it down. Leave the bolt nearest to the damage off.
Grab an old hoodie
Whack the bent part on top of the bend. Exterior side.
Put the bolt back on. You'll know its straight if it has no problems aligning. If it does, loosen the other fender bolts and tighten accordingly till it fits.

You just saved yourself a few hundred dollars.

Looks like the tire is rubbing the bumper though.
Just pull it up and secure it with a random nut and bolt in any preexisting hole between them. Or use zipties.
