saw an early screening at 7.

Some very good moments in the movie,(funny lines and action sequences) could have definitely condensed the script or made some parts more relevant if they were to include them. Nothing epic but still a good comic book adaption.

Thought it was pretty good. I wouldn't say better or worse than the first one. On par overall?

I watched the midnight showing at 1201 am in coq last night, and it was awesome!!! For the people who were 'disappointed' they're missing the bigger picture and underlying meanings. Don't want to spoil it for anyone yet though, but think about where ironman 1 left off, and how he develops throughout ironman 2 and how it sets up for his position at SHEILD.

But it was a great movie IMO, can't wait for the 3rd one

From all the fb comments I've been reading, I think a lot of people out there do not fully understand the meaning of this movie...

S L jackson is shield , he got the gig for an audition and now he has 9 movies lined up with him in all the comic movies... talk about a lucky son of a gun.

i bet he's better than hasseloff back in the days when he was playing the same role

Reading the comics as a kid, it's weird for me to see SLJ playing Nick Fury.

I dont think there has ever, in the history of comics books, been a case where the artists created (or re-designed) a character to look like a real-life actor, only to have that actor actually take on the role in a movie years later.

He auditioned?

Like the poster above said, they redesigned Nick Fury when Marvel decided to reboot all the superheroes and place them in what's called the Ultimate universe. And in doing so, they literally modeled it right after Samuel L. Jackson. So really, there is no question to who is playing the role.

saw the silvercity richmond on friday @ 1130, surprised it wasn't a full theatre.. but the previous showings looked to be full.
i lined up outside from 10 to 11, they brought us into the theatre and sat through about 45 mins of commercials and previews.. nothing will ever come close to lining up for avatar so this felt like nothing to me.
i think silvercity prepared pretty well for this opening because there was A LOT of showings at the busiest hours (9pm-midnight).

i went on the same night to watch the 8pm showing. Showed up at 720, walked right in and got center seating mid row. I think everything thought it'd be packed so avoided opening night. The hockey game also had something to do with it.

pretty good for a sequel, definitely nice that they added in some eye candy:

I'm still on the fence about IM2. It had a lot of good eye candy (both the CG and SJ), but the plot was about as flat as the Praries. I, too, was damn bored for the first half of the movie. Second half was a good "Shut-off-your-brain-and-watch" but other than that... meh. It'll look pretty on my BR player when it's released, but it'll definitely be playing on my TV only when I want something that I can walk away from for ten minutes and not have to worry about missing anything.

Apart from SJ in that wonderful outfit...

IM2 looked great (some nice eye candy)... some good points in the story (like Mickey Rourke talking with Downey in the jail) but ultimately the story/movie didn't jive that well and didn't seem that well put together... almost rushed

i dunno kinda left you with a "what just happened?" at the end and a big "MEH"

saw it in the Digital theatre (which looks aweeesome) didn't make it in time for Imax

Also saw this last night.. it was alright as an action movie.. It did sorta remind me of Spiderman 3; it felt like it just had too many unecessary scenes that either weren't exciting enough, or didn't add to the story.

I'd give it a 9/10.. unless it didn't have SJ.. then it'd be about a 6..
