Where to get Yerba Mate Tea?

Anyone know where I can get some for really cheap? I have heard various prices, like $15 for 100g where as some ppl get like a KG for $6. I have never tried them and want to try some for cheap... I want to get the leaves and not the drinks that may be ordered thru tea shops or such.

For those that don't know, it's a tea that originated from Argentina and it's pretty much like a caffeine replacement and does not affect your sleep cycle if you drink it too late.

Anyway, any ideas? thanks in advance

I'd like to know too... An old co-worker of mine would get it for like $10 a kg somewhere out in Chilliwack... Local stores rape you on the price of it.

Mate with a bit of sugar is heavenly. I always bring back a couple of boxes when I go back to Argentina to visit my parents.

Awesome stuff. I have seen them in organic food store in Victoria when I was at UVic as well as a tea/coffee shop on Graville island.

I dont know how cheap it is since i got it a long time ago.
But i picked up a sampler pack from Special Tea in Victoria for $25, something like that.

For those curious, I just packed up a pack of loose leaf ones at Capers for $10.99 that was for 227grams. There was another one by a different brand was for $7.60 for only 100g.

Penner2k, you managed to find anything? I wouldn't mind buying some off you if you do find some for that price cause I do know they exist.

Found an online store that some people recommended and that site was selling for around $7 for 1kg. They had a deal for buy 2 for $13 but they ship with UPS and shipping is roughly like $25. If I'm buying alone, it's not worth it since UPS would rape me with their additional charges... anyone interested in splitting up just pm.

^ that's weird. how much are you drinking? i'm just consuming maybe less than a spoon and drink it from that till the rest of the day. maybe mine's really concentrated?

I don't eat the leaves, I put it in a tea strainer and let it steep.

Usually I have about 1 tablespoon, lasts usually 2 steeps.

i dont think you're suppose to eat the leaves.

I remember working at blenz their yerba makes the tea yellow i dont think it's suppose to make your poop green... I think The Grind sell Yerba as well not sure how much tho =T
