Robin Williams wants 'in' for next Batman

i think he would be good

Comedian deadly serious about role

When Batman rises again for his third outing under director Christopher Nolan's watch, no one is sure just who the Caped Crusader will be squaring off against. In fact, the question as to which member of the Dark Knight's rogue gallery of villains will bring death, destruction and disaster to the citizens of Gotham City is a hot topic throughout Tinsel Town.

Now, one veteran performer who's been angling to play a Batman villain for years is already making his pitch to anyone and everyone who'll listen: Robin Williams wants to play The Riddler.

The 58-year-old funnyman tells Empire magazine he would love to reunite with Nolan on the project. He and the director first worked together on the psychological thriller Insomnia.

'I would work with Chris again in a second, playing anyone in anything,' says Williams. 'I'd play The Riddler in the next Batman, although it would be hard to top Heath [Ledger] as the villain, and I'm a little hairy for tights.'
Williams goes so far as to make an appeal to the director. 'I'm using this article as an ad,' he says. 'Chris, call me, I'll do anything. I could be a great character – or some weird little man in the background in Arkham Asylum.'

Williams goes on to explain that twice in the past he almost got the call to star in a Batman movie, only to have the part given to someone else. 'The Batman films have screwed me twice before' he explains. 'Years ago they offered me The Joker and then gave it to Jack Nicholson, then they offered me The Riddler and gave it to Jim Carrey. I'd be like 'OK, is this a real offer? If it is, then the answer's yes. Don't pump me again, motherf—–s.'

the riddler would just be some really intellectual guy that liked fucking with people's minds by telling them twists and leading them in circles with his clues and mind fuck games.

i think williams can pull it off easily. it's the mind, that makes the riddler, not the body.
