Free representation or legal advice.

So a "friend" got caught while riding with a prohibited license. His bike is impounded for 60 days. He told the officer he had the intent to drive already when caught in the vicinity of his bike while hiding from a road block, until some ass hat reported an officer about a guy pulling over down the street and running into the bushes. When he was offered the contact to a free lawyer he refused and remained silent. He has a court date coming up in about 2 months.

He wants to know where he can get those free lawyers like a public attorney or something.

^dang, it doesn't seem like they help out with motor vehicle act... it says they are eligible to advise/provide a lawyer for

* criminal charges,
* mental health and prison issues,
* serious family problems,
* child protection matters, and
* immigration problems.

Sounds like your "friend" is the asshat here. He needs a real lawyer to try to get off for what he did as he chose himself a pile of hurt. Fortunately he didn't crash and involve himself in insurance payouts as well. I would not count someone like that as a friend.

Dude.....if I saw that someone was trying to avoid a roadcheck, I'd call it in too.
