Nuff said.

RRxtar 07-14-2010 02:29 PM

i was thinking maybe witchcraft and magic

Joreus 07-14-2010 02:31 PM

Maybe he flips it onto its side, flops and rolls around on it and this sound is what comes out. A miracle, kind of like that elephant that paints.

unit 07-14-2010 03:20 PM

nabs 07-14-2010 03:26 PM

at the risk of sounding like a huge fanboi i'll still post up this good article of him and how he makes his music:

Quote:

I think people don’t know what they’re hearing, but they’re feeling something different. It’s the tonality of analog oscillators.
Yeah. It’s a little bit of a subconscious trip, no doubt. I can spot fakes a mile away from those beautifully crafted digital things that are just designed to hit a certain frequency when you hit a certain note — it’s so easy to pick out when you hear it in relation to an octave.

If you can't appreciate his music. You have to at least appreciate his love for the music. He's a genius whether people realize it or not.

wow i dont really like his music that much but much respect to him for using that thing lol

basically, he doesnt use an insrument that makes 'sound', he uses that enormous thing to modify electrical signals to create noise. and then makes that noise into music

absolutely incredible.

i guess thats been going on for decades in music, especially hip hop. but still..

Ulic Qel-Droma 07-16-2010 08:56 PM

I think it's cool, but it's like just his selling point.

It's like unscrewing a screw using a screw driver instead of a power drill.

GSX-R 07-18-2010 09:47 AM

deadmau5 ftw

-EuroRSN- 07-27-2010 12:20 AM

Wow wtf

m4k4v4li 07-27-2010 04:38 AM

lol ppl need to get off his dick. props to him for blowin up, bein canadian, giving exposure to electronica... but there are 100000000 other dj/producers who are way more talented

SkinnyPupp 07-27-2010 04:45 AM

Analog ftw

I used to play around with an emulator for a pair of 303's and an 808. That was so fun, but kind of limited.

Never heard of Dead Mau 5, will have to check them out

SkinnyPupp 07-27-2010 04:50 AM

Sweet, the emulator is free now, and they added a 909!

I love raw, basic sound in music.

that hater shit applies to everyone.

name your favorite dj, or upcoming guy. some other music fag will come in here with an even more obscure dj and say your guy is a fuckin punk.

we get it. he's popular and therefore not worthy of your respect. but don't act like a good producer/dj won't get noticed. it's called the internets and nobodies blow up all the time.

This applies to pretty much any artistic endeavors, whether music, movies, painters, photographers, poets, bloggers, blah blah blah.

It even applies to REVscene :D

The only thing I know about the artist is the song and video posted in this thread, but even then I can't even begin to comprehend how you could possibly compare the two.

unit 07-28-2010 09:28 AM

yeah thats not a fair comparison, but i have lost a lot of interest in deadmau5.
2-3 years ago when you didnt hear all his music on the radio, he was a lot cooler.
back then i paid like 30 or 40 bucks to see his show, now its over 100.

Timewav3zer0 07-28-2010 02:23 PM

He is honestly over rated...most the people that go to his shows here are people that heard him on radio
