Spotted: Stupid kid on 1st ave

Testing out my new in car DVR.
Heading Westbound on 1st Ave, a kid decides to walk against traffic in the middle of the right lane wearing dark clothes...

Pretty cool, reminds me of the cam cop cars have. And on the topic of idiots, summer really brings them out. I seen some fool riding his bike last night, wearing all black, no helmet, no reflective clothing and riding his bike against the flow of traffic.

+1 though about installing one, its the perfect witness to a crash. do you have to constantly empty the content to make space? can you set it up so it recorded when the car is off to catch people keying your car?

Im running KCI communications black box.
http://www.thecarblackbox.com/
All in one Camera, GPS, 3-Axis Shock sensor.
It automatically deletes older data when you run out of memory card space.
I guess you could wire it to always on, but I only have my on when the car is on.

$250 USD+Shipping+ HST when bringing it back from the border.
Install is simple. Just hardwire it as if you're wiring a radar detector. It comes with a Cigarette Adapter, but who uses that?

Which one did you get, the 90 degree lens or 170 degree lens? And if you hardwired it, did you also buy the fusebox power supply wire?

I got the 170 degree lens. I just took apart the cig lighter and spliced the cables and added a in-line fuse. $1.99 in parts as opposed to 14 bucks.

20 mins, tops. Most of the time came from finding the optimal position on the windshield.

Awesome I just bought one since it's on sale right now. I bought the 90 degree lens one because the image looks more clearer. Group buy would be awesome but it's only $9 cheaper for each unit if you buy 10-49 of them. I was looking at this one that also has a cabin camera and audio recording as well for $329, but I don't want myself being recorded singing along to Spice Girls

Id also feel uneasy if all my in-car conversations were recorded.
Feel free to come find me if you wanna see it in person.

The mic is built into the unit? If there is an option for external mic you could stick it outside. Would e great for recording laps and of course rcord you awesome exhause sound as you crash into a bus or the scream of pedestrains as you mow them down

Is the blackbox noticeable from the outside of the car? Dont want thieves to break in thinking it's an expensive device sitting near the rear view mirror. And with the video quality you used in your 1st post, how much mb does it use per say... hour of driving?
