Band Of Brothers

I know it's old and quite some people have heard or already seen it. Coming across the WWII pics on the other thread reminded me of this series.

Rent it, download it or whatever but it's worth watching if you enjoy some historical theatrics.

It's a 10 episode short series on HBO from 2001 so bare with me, it isn't the greatest, but it's definitely something memorable.

If you haven't seen it and you're a fan of war movies, this is a MUST

Band of brothers is Saving Private Ryan x10!

The Pacific is next in line. Very emotional.

If only each episode of the pacific was like 10min longer, it woulda been better.

Also 10 eps is not enough. I mean they crammed the entire okinawa campaign into ONE episode!!! There was waaaay too much that went on there.

The Pacific is not even 1/10 as good as BoB. I'm not trolling here. The Pacific's characters never stuck with me. There was no Major Winters, no Lt. Spiers, no Sgt. Lipton; the only endearing character on The Pacific was Basilone. I felt no pity or empathy for any other character on The Pacific. They are shells compared to the cast of BoB.

BoB on blu-ray is probably one of the best HD boxsets you'll ever own.

The Pacific theatre of war wasn't nearly glorified as the European front. They focused on more of the mental aspects of the war, and they captured it very well without being to biased. Long gruesome rainy days, Jap soldiers after Jap soldiers attacking non-stop every night, and in many cases, excruciatingly long weeks in one area, sometimes only advancing a few hundred feet.
So, I disagree with your 1/10, because The Pacific really did capture what the war was like, and you have to understand that it was completely different type of war compared to the European Theatre.
