I really like these pants, cause they match my jacket, yet they don't include knee armour. I emailed Alpinestars and they gave me the runaround, it doesn't seem Alpinestars sells the knee armour for these pants separately.

So I am considering these instead:

I want to stay with a textile pant for now (I know leather is better, I want to buy a 2pc suit next year), any recommendations? I want something that looks decent to wear off the bike. I wear this jacket and most haven't been able to tell it is a motorcycle jacket: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...WP-Jacket.aspx

Have you considered Kevlar Lined jeans, especially for summer? I'm about to buy a pair of Sartso jeans from Bayside. They offer optional removable CE knee pads.

Sorry I should have also said I'm looking for waterproof pants, thus why I want textiles. Jeans are fine for all summer, and I need to get a paid of kelvar jeans, yet I want these for fall/winter when the rain starts again. I don't want to ride in the rain, yet it would be nice if it was sprinkling, or a quick shower, that I'd still be mostly dry.

Let me know how you like the Sartso jeans. I've looked at other kevlar jeans and didn't like them, those look pretty cool. Does Bayside have any to try on?

I'm currently wearing Joe Rocket Atomic pants. I've only worn them in light rain and they were fine. There is also removable zipper panels for ventilation on super hot days, but so far even on our hot days, I haven't had the need for that. I've lowsided once at 20-30 km/h, and the pants held up well, no rips/tears anywhere!

Still quite hot with the upper armour but better than my touring jacket.

Textiles are not waterproof! Eventhough the claim it is. I am looking to get real rain gears for fishermen or something from Mark's work wear house for the construction workers. You need storage to carry with you tho.

The drystar Alpinestars textiles are! My jacket has been dry in downpours.

I agree with real rain gear, if I had to ride 30min+ in rain I wold stop and wear rain gear over my gear. Yet for these pants I want something waterproof in a drizzle, or a 5 min surprise shower for those days when there is a 60% chance of showers yet it only rains for a few mins.

Trust me, I rode in Poco looking for a tag once more than 2 hrs. I rode back from Okanagan and I got dumped on from Hope. My touring jacket http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/cata...t-p-240_3.html was wet from shoulders down. Water was dripping into my gloves because I have long gloves over my cuffs. Water was coming into my gloves from the outside because of the rain pounding on it. My textile pants were wet and I felt like I peed myself. A little pond inside my boots.

It depends on your ride too. I like long distance so it is a must. Every likes to look good too but for me function/safety overrides everything else....I better go get my real rain gears soon now!

have you checked to see what rubberside down in RIchmond has?

One of my textile pants are from RBSD. They still leak after 20mins of rain.

I'm going to hit MEC tonight and buy some rain pants. I've wanted some for sports as well, so this will give me a good dual usage from them, and they look pretty normal.

Looks outweighs looking like a power ranger :D
