will be 5th time I think seeing Gareth? He's never disappointed me before, just wish we were getting a vocalist like Christina or his sister to support him as well though. Luke Bond is good though "whatever happened too a looove that was on fire!?"

I'll probably go, but all my expectations for him have evaporated. His new album is really dissapointing and he says he's done with festival bangers, but continues to only drop them in his sets.

Gone are the days of the Garuda trance sounds from Gareth. Thank god Ben Gold is keeping it strong.

you actually think his album is disappointing? I think it's one of the better albums recently, and it touches on a lot of his old roots. U,Dynamite,Beautiful Rage, Javellin,Firebird,Lights & Thunder (the one least like his style),Soldier & Long Way Home are all pretty good IMO

This has to be said.. lol.

As much hate as Deadmau5 is getting over the whole Ultra thing. His set is pretty damned amazing. Great blend of House/Techno, love it.

My Ultra list...

1. Gaia
2. Deadmau5
3. Alesso

Tiesto's fake manufactured beef with him over Twitter was absolutely lame. Dude must've hit his head really hard the previous week lol

Remix of... Levels & Stuff was freaking amazing, not even joking. I don't see how that could be taken as taking a stab at Avicii. He just made it better, lol.

Gareth sucked in Life in Color. He's much better in the smaller shows.

Yup

Like I said, Tiesto's fake beef with him over Twitter was lame. It was a complete overreaction on his part. deadmau5 tweeted Avicii the day of the show wishing him all the best in his recovery and that he'd try his best to hold it down in his absence. There was no disrespect from his part.

I had high hopes I guess. Was listening to Northern Lights on repeat a few days ago too.

Entrada = 9/10
Perfect intro song for the album and a live set. Probably the best track on this album. Started out way too strong.(not that that's bad)
Dynamite = 5/10
Ahh....the vocals didn't match too well. A dub version wouldn't be too bad.
Eye of the Storm = 2/10
God I hate male vocals. A dub version wouldn't have been any better. Filler track.
Javelin = 7/10
Meh. Decent track, but a Ben Gold & Gareth combo should be better.
Beautiful Rage = 5/10
This track has so much potential. Someone need to hop on this and remix it.
Million Years = 4/10
Lol u wot m8. Trouse at it's finest.
Firebird = 8.5/10
This is what I expect. Solid song. Great breakdown with layers.
Soldier = 5.5/10
Festival vocal. Not bad.
Lights & Thunder = 7/10
Festival banger.
U = 6/10
Kearney made this song good. Original sounds too pop-y
Long Way Home = 6.5/10
Can't say much. It's a chill song.

Ok I retracted my previous post, just gave it a second listen. This album blows any other album out of the water that was released this year. I still expected much more from Gareth, especially since he had 3 years since his last album and he hasn't produced much since (Ya I know he had a kid). I think I'm just holding on to what used to be. A lot of these tracks have potential if he polished them a little bit more. Only song I would keep for me personally that I don't already have would be Entrada.

gareth emery really needs a track that resembles the popularity and music of concrete angel

for sure nothing of its calibre but the album really needs some type of song that make the fans play the song over and over and over again into repeat.

Very mediocre album imo....

gareth knows he is following behind in the scene and the whole world knows it. He even pleads for sympathy on facebook and social media saying that house has taken over and he will not place high on the top dj 100 ranking (with him sticking to trouse). Ironically enough, he played a shit ton of house bangers like cannonball and apollo (dash berlin remix) in last year's EDC and other mainstream big room house.

I personally think Dash berlin does quite well when releasing 4am remixes and new tracks, makes you want to listen to it more and more

best songs in his album were probably javenlin, entrada, and U (kearney remix)

U had potential in the build up but didn't give me the chills when the drop was in effect. O god W&W butchered this song so bad.

If I were gareth, I would go back to my roots and make a big big release on a song that EVERY would love to listen. A song where he can reach number one. I am 100% sure he knew non of these singles in his album were on top of the current music charts.

I really never understood this argument. That's like asking someone who prefers lyrical rap to open their mind and listen to trap (non-edm). Us "trance fanboys" prefer to listen to trance than to what people call house these days. Maybe some of us of like house, maybe some of us don't. We aren't forcing our trance agenda down your throats, just stating our opinion.

I'm pretty sure everyone here, including some house fans would rather have all those you listed make trance every once in awhile. You have to be insane to think the new W&W tracks are better than their old stuff. I have hopes that those producers who have hopped over will come back someday because big room trance is as good (and in my opinion, better) than big room house. Why not appeal to both markets?

Gareth hasn't hopped over yet. Verdasco summed it up pretty well if you ask me. He's fallen the fuck off. Once a household name in trance, now he's lost in the nether trying to find his identity.
