court date for driving violation

hey so everytime ive recieved a ticket in surrey, or delta my court date is always in richmond? everytime ive shown up to court to dispute my ticket the cop doesnt show. so my question is, is it just a coincedence that the cop isnt showing up, since he/she doesnt want to make the trip out to richmond, and shouldnt my proceeding take place at a local court house in surrey or delta?

The trial must take place in the location where the offence happened at the courthouse where those trials are scheduled. Some courthouses cover several geographic areas. For example, get a ticket issued in Oyster River, Willow Point, Campbell River, Gold River Hwy, Roberts Lake, Sayward or Woss areas and you will dispute it in the Campbell River courthouse.

The no-show of members is another situation. Trails are scheduled on their regular shift days to prevent their no shows. There could be any number of reasons for them not attending court...ranging from sudden manpower shortages, someone got hurt, transfers, tied up on the way there (comes across a crash)...to sudden rescheduling for courses. That sort of thing. Sometuimes there are also screwups in the scheduling and I had instances where I was scheduled mistakenly for a criminal trial and a Traffic Court trial at the same time.
