BC License/AB Speeding Ticket Question Today, I was driving out of Calgary heading back to Victoria when I got pulled over for going 126 in a 90 zone shortly after Dead Man Flats. I screwed up and I will be paying the fine, but I want to know will my insurance rates in BC be affected by points? My birthday is coming up in November, but I will be transferring my insurance to a winter car before then, would this be considered a renewal? FYI my current insurance is good till February 2011. |
I don't believe so as even 1 VT in BC does't carry points/$$$. |
Cool, thanks for clearing it up! |
Let me re-phrase that...it carries points and a money fine but your actual insurance rates do not go up for one single ticket in BC, unlike with many private insurance companies where they jack your actual insurance rates when you get tickets. |
Yeah I know the money fine and points will stick. I haven't had a ticket since 2007. What happens when you get more than 1 ticket within a year in BC? |
