Is it possible?

Is it possoble to contact the RCMP and find out if someone has been given a 24 hour, impaired, or charged with driving while prohibited. Would they be able to give that info?

My friends husband's vehicle has disappeared for a few days, and he's been walking to work. When she questioned him, he said the vehicle will be hauled back soon, it's taking a rest. LOL

Thanks

No, but on the other hand, you can always call the impound lot to see if such car got towed.

it would be confidential news I think and I doubt anyone can just say Hi, i want to check if my boss John Smith was arrested for DUI....

Greenstoner 09-07-2010 05:01 PM

calling impound sounds smart... haha

good idea

This is something between your friend and her husband. If she wants to know then she can call Police, identify herself and tell them the circumstances. They can do a simple check in a few seconds and find out. Sounds like her marriage has more problems than a missing car. Best stay out of this one.

Enter name. look at charges. If it is a recent charge it may not show up or if a court date is not issued it might not show up.

Why do you care, it's not your business.

That's becuase it happened to him.

He's just using the "my friend" excuse not to be embarrassed.

scoughty 09-08-2010 10:34 AM

Say or think what you like, I've know this person for 30 years, 10 years before she got married. I guess if you don,t have friends, you wouldn't know about helping one another out on occasions, or have any reason to care about them.

And another thing, why would I want to know if I had gotten into trouble, wouldn't I already know this?

sebberry 09-08-2010 11:54 AM

Driving records should be public, IMO. I can't think of any reason why they should be kept secret.

zulutango 09-08-2010 06:10 PM

How about the Privacy Act? When doing a criminal record check you have to sign a release permitting Police to disclose the info to whoever you named on the request for the check. I know, just had to sign one for my driving instructor renewals.

sebberry 09-08-2010 06:49 PM

Why should a driving record be subject to the privacy act?

I'd like to know that the lawmakers have clean records or not.

zulutango 09-08-2010 06:51 PM

So you would have no problem posting yours here on RS for all to see? If you want to know what their driving records are why not request the information?

I'd have no problem doing that, it would look something like this:

Start---
NO INFRACTIONS
End---

That way you can see that all my rants are due to a genuine concern for road safety, and not related to some ticket I got in the past that I am still mad about.

why do you care enough to shit on OP thread?

While your record may be clean there are a lot of people whose arent and for that info to be given out freely could damage peoples reputations and what not

or in words the common RS would understand

"SWAT came into my house, disrespected my whole family because somebody narc'd me out! And you know what? IT WAS YOU! "
